Justice for Jane Doe
Fighting Against Injustice and Upholding Disability Rights
Jane Doe's life changed forever when UDC Law denied her basic ADA accommodations, leading to a near-fatal incident. Now, a Trump-appointed judge and the school are attempting to conceal the truth and evade responsibility. Join us in supporting Jane's fight for medical care and seeking accountability for this grave injustice.
They Denied Her Graduation—After Nearly Killing Her
Jane Doe was supposed to walk across the stage this spring. Instead, she’s in speech, vision, and physical therapy—because her law school refused to follow federal disability law.
She warned them. Her doctor warned them. On February 27, 2025, her physician submitted a letter stating that Jane needed remote access to long classes or she could suffer a permanent brain injury.
They ignored it.
On March 28, she collapsed on campus. She hit her head and passed out. No administrator followed up.
On April 9, she collapsed again. 911 was called. She was rushed to the emergency room, diagnosed with a serious concussion, and now lives with post-concussion syndrome. She can no longer walk without assistance.
Instead of helping her heal, UDC Law made it worse:
-
❌ They denied her request for Incompletes—even with five medical letters and ER records.
-
❌ They told her she would fail if she didn’t finish exams—but refused to grant the remote access needed to complete them.
-
❌ They barred her from walking at graduation. Her family had already booked travel. The law school refused to let her participate.
This wasn’t a mistake. It was a cover-up.
Emails show that ARC (the disability office) forwarded her doctor’s notes to General Counsel, who then illegally blocked her accommodations, with no medical training, in violation of federal law.
